United Way of Grande Prairie and Region is about people helping people and about building our community. They give support where and when it’s needed − by investing in programs offered by community partners in our region. Increasingly they are examining the root causes of social problems − such as poverty, isolation & loneliness, family stress & breakdown, violence in society & substance abuse. They collaborate with individuals, communities, business, government and organizations to help people in need gain greater independence, safety and dignity. As they have for over 30 years, they direct donations made from the citizens of Grande Prairie & Region to where they’re needed most. In 2008 they were able to raise $879,652.43 to help people in our community lead healthier lives, become self-sufficient and give children and youth opportunities for a brighter tomorrow. By giving to United Way we stand UNITED FOR GOOD!

GPR  adopted three families for Christmas 2009 with a total of 9 people.  We donated 15 Rubbermaid tubs of gifts and food.
