2.67 KW of generator for 1 KW of electric motor.

1 HP = 746 watts

Example: 20 hp x 2.67 x 746 = 39,836 watts ÷ 1000 = 40 KW generator

More than one motor: i.e.: 2 motors – the second motor should be calculated at normal rating

Example: 20 hp x 2.67 x 746 = 39,836 watts ÷ 1000 = 40 KW

10 hp x 746 = 7460 watts

Total: 47,296 watts ÷ 1000

Generator Size = 50 KW

Each additional motor is calculated at normal rating.
